Dr Scott Brown, Chief Executive Officer

Dr Scott BrownDr Scott Brown has a strong track record of intellectual property management and licensing. He has held senior management roles at Cambridge Display Technology (CDT), Sumation (a joint venture between CDT and Sumitomo Chemical) and Dow Corning.

Dr Brown has worked in the US and more recently Japan where he worked closely with many of Asia’s leading electronics companies. He was a key member of the executive management team during CDT’s NASDAQ IPO in December 2004 and their eventual acquisition by Sumitomo Chemical in September 2007, when he became responsible for commercial and R & D activities.
Dr Brown joined Nexeon as CEO in June 2009.

Professor Mino Green, Chief Scientific Officer

Professor Mino GreenProfessor Green is the founder and developer of Nexeon’s basic technology and an Emeritus Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Imperial College London. His distinguished career includes commercial experience with the Zenith Radio Corporation.

After 14 years in Industry, both in the UK and the USA, Professor Green returned to Imperial College in 1972 to follow a career in academia. In addition to his studies on novel silicon materials, Professor Green’s academic pursuits have focussed on the interplay of solid state physics and chemistry, particularly physical chemistry, including semiconductor electrochemistry, chem- and physi-sorption on semiconductors, thermoelectric systems, solid state photo-and e-beam-decomposition, and transition metal oxide electrochromic systems.

Dr Bill Macklin, Chief Technical Officer

Dr Bill MacklinDr Macklin has spent most of his career working on Li-ion batteries, and gained his PhD in Chemistry at Oxford University working with Professor John Goodenough, one of the earlier pioneers of Li-ion batteries.

After becoming Director of Research & Development at AEA Technology, Dr Macklin joined ABSL Power Solutions, a UK manufacturer of Li-ion cells as Technical Director. He joined Nexeon in October 2008.

Dr Macklin has published and patented extensively in the Li-ion battery field and is very well known in the Japanese battery community.

Ian McDonald, Engineering Director

Ian McDonaldIan has spent 30 years in high technology process engineering, including the nuclear industry. He has extensive experience of managing the design and build of Li-ion battery manufacturing facilities and was Engineering Director of AEA Technology.
